“To all who come to this happy place: Welcome.”
Today, I left my adolescence behind at the Happiest Place on Earth. I cannot begin to describe how much I love Disneyland or just how much I will miss it when I go to college. Throughout the years, Disneyland has been there for me in so many ways… so many indescribable ways. It has given me the seasons I miss out on by living here, it has created doors in my mind that would have remained unopened, and it has shown me kindness and compassion when it was lacking in the real world. When I couldn’t really think of where to go with something and how I felt about it, I took it to Disneyland. I took my sister or a friend or my aunt with me, and I let the park listen.
The fantasyland created for children that exists in Anaheim is one of the most beautiful things in the world. Not only is it full of magnificent scenery and architecture and nature, but it is also filled with a character description that is hard to believe in our modern Day world. Disneyland is beautiful because it is full of people who are invested in making other people happy, be it their own families, random strangers, or just their best friends or loved ones. Disneyland brings people together and gives them a common cause: Happiness.
I know I’ll probably be back in it’s loving arms soon enough, but for the time being, I look forward to moving forward with my life and I am grateful to the park for teaching me so much and for letting me walk it’s hallowed halls and lines and streets for so many years at a time.
It’s been an excruciatingly beautiful run, Disneyland.
